We are excited to announce a brand-new Young Chef three-day practical course experience to inspire the bakers of the future! Starting on Wednesday 14th August and finishing on Friday 16th August, this workshop is for budding-bakers aged 8-14 years - it's all about 'having a go', building confidence and learning new skills whilst having FUN!
Day 1 - we will look at the building blocks of baking and you will begin the design of your show-stopper cake under the guidance of our tutors. We will make a Chocolate Cake and a Chocolate Frosting, a traditional Vanilla Sponge and a classic Swiss Roll - practising and perfecting the structural elements of your masterpiece cake.
Day 2 - we will make a variety of lovely decorative finishes to adorn your show piece including fondant flowers and chocolate bark. With the encouragement and support of our tutors you will also spend time planning and preparing for the final day. Creating your own time plan and weighing up your ingredients in readiness for the big day ahead!
Day 3 - it's Showstopper Day! - all your planning and prepartion will now be put into practice. Under the watchful eye and guidance of our tutors, you will work independently creating your very own masterpiece to take home and delight your family and friends........ a stunning centrepiece cake worthy of a star baker!
Each student will also be awarded with a Bettys Baking Skills Certificate in recognition of their hard work and achievement.
