Our full range of courses up to the end of this year are now available to book and we’ve included some of our most popular courses in all categories. We have a few additional courses through July and August to whet your appetite and, as the hot days of summer fade and the cooler weather approaches, choose from wholesome and comforting family dishes and impressive entertaining menus, to deliciously tempting cakes & bakes and home baked bread.

For those who like to plan ahead our full range of Christmas courses are available too – why not join us this year to make your very own Christmas Cake and Christmas Pudding! And, if you’re starting to make plans for next year our next launch is planned for July and will include dates from January to April 2020.

Bettys Centenary Events – a year of celebration

In 1919 an orphaned Swiss called Frederick Belmont fulfilled his lifelong dream of opening a café of his own. Now, 100 years on, that little café is celebrating its centenary. We don’t know why he named it Bettys, but we do know that he would be very proud to see what his dream had become.

Join us this year as we mark this milestone with one-off Centenary events being held in the Belmont Room in York and the Imperial Room in Harrogate, limited edition teas and treats, and a special reimagining of our famous afternoon tea.

Here at Bettys Cookery School, we are celebrating with two new and very special courses. The delicious Learn to Make Bettys Fancies practical course – your chance to find out how we make some of Bettys exquisite traditional fancies and learn the skilful art of ‘hand dipping’. Or for a truly one-off celebratory event and the chance to meet the Cookery School’s founder Lesley Wild, join us on Cooking and Conversation with Lesley Wild as she demonstrates some of her favourite recipes and explores how Bettys Swiss heritage influences our food culture.

Bettys at the Country Living Christmas Fair 2018

Our Cookery School tutors were very happy to return to this year’s fair being held in Harrogate, where they demonstrated some lovely Christmas entertaining ideas. Jenny and Lisa shared their expertise and knowledge with ‘top-tips’ as they created these delicious dishes, Pan Fried Venison with Confit Parsnips, Carrot Purée and a Blackberry & Damson Gin Reduction and Chocolate & Orange Tiramisu.

Bettys Star Bakers!

We are excited to announce a brand-new Young Chef three-day practical course experience to inspire the bakers of the future! Starting on Wednesday 14th August and finishing on Friday 16th August, this workshop is for budding-bakers aged 8-14 years - it's all about 'having a go', building confidence and learning new skills whilst having FUN!

Over the 3 days, working independently but under the guidance and watchful eye of our tutors, each Young Chef will design and create their very own show-stopper cake complete with decorative finishes - a stunning centrepiece cake worthy of a star baker!

Each student will also be awarded a Bettys Baking Skills Certificate in recognition of their hard work and achievement.
